The Georgia O’Keeffe ranch-style interior was breezy and deliciously welcoming as the temperatures outside soared.
A cooling drink whilst contemplating the magnificent view of the Embalse de Béznar (a large dam) was the perfect finishing touch.

You know how it is. Sometimes fate takes a hand in determining your direction and all you can do is follow along obediently.
I had only casually mentioned to my other half, my need to find new venues to exhibit in during the next twelve months when my friend, potter Kitty Shepherd, breezed in to a gathering I was at and suggested I apply to take part in the first summer exhibition, of La Conca Arts Club in the Lecrín valley, Granada. I had to beat back the doubting words of my Inner Critic as I applied. But, happily, my IC was forced to hang his head in shame. I got in! Embrace Creative Community - Step 2 in Growing Your Art-Life
The show - "The Incredible Exploding Pomegranate" - is taking place across two venues - La Conca itself and the Casino in Salobreña (a small and pretty resort on the Granada coast). It features artists from both Spain and the UK with 160 jury-selected works being exhibited.
The photos on La Conca’s website were really enticing but I knew the moment I saw that Saloon sign above the door that I had arrived synchronistically at the right place! Never underestimate the importance of verbalising positive outcomes in your strategy for growing your art business! Or the value of being part of a creative community.
