It was an unlikely combination.

A Tai Chi teacher taking his teaching online and an indie musician with a passion for acid jazz.

Curious Collaboration

When musician Jason Newton (aka Pearl Viper) approached my other half, Paul Read in his incarnation as the Tai Chi anti-guru Teapotmonk, to ask whether he could sample his voice, a very curious collaboration began.

The result, a year later, was a series of 3 very unusual EP's in which Jason cleverly sampled Paul's Tai Chi podcasts and created a set of distinctive and very moody backing tracks to complement them.

The whole is substantially greater than the sum of its parts.

What happens when two very different creative individuals come together to collaborate on a project?

What possibilities and potentials are opened up by the stimulation of working with someone who specialises in a completely dissimilar creative discipline?

What might you learn from exploring this kind of experience in your own discipline?

How might you grow?
