Why does it take big and catastrophic events in life to hammer home the importance of our creative practice?
Momentous and heart-rending things are happening in my life right now, wrenching me away from my home and my comfortable routines of working in the studio and teaching yoga.
Whenever I have the chance to get into my studio now, it feels sacred. I am awed by an hour of silence and feel the privilege of a brief respite of uninterrupted focus.
I entreat you today to treat your creative practice as sacred and your creative space (even if it's your laptop or a corner of the kitchen table) as holy.
